Some Upcoming Public Events
Where you can see me physically – or virtually – and sometimes even converse
I don’t often do a lot of public events; mostly I speak for companies, associations, and conferences, while also conducting a lot of workshops and some “episodic” consulting with individual companies. But in large measure because of the book launch there are a lot of events coming up where you can see me, and sometimes where we can even talk together personally.
I’ll be speaking at South by Southwest on Sunday, March 15
That is not to say that they are all free! In fact, my impetus for this special Thursday post was thinking that at least a few of you subscribers must be going to South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, toward the end of next week. So I wanted to be sure to let you know that I will be speaking on Sunday the 15th at 4pm CDT in the Austin Marriott Downtown-Waterloo Ballroom 3, with the title “Welcome to the Transformation Economy”. Right before that I’ll also be there from Thursday evening the 12th through Monday afternoon the 16th, and look forward to “bumping into” any of you who are going.
Oh – on Saturday the 14th, 4:15pm, I’ll also be signing books in the SXSW bookstore on the 6th floor of the Austin Hilton. (Perhaps a good time to go for a drink afterward?) Feel free to bring your own copy for me to sign before/after my session as well!
Additional Public Appearances
Before I even head there, though, my publisher Harvard Business Review Press is holding a Webinar with me, The Transformation Economy, next Tuesday, March 10, from 9-10 EDT/3-4pm CET (if the time zone changes don’t screw up my calculations). Tickets are free, unless you also want to bundle a copy of the book in with it.
Next, on Tuesday March 24 I’ll be doing a live conversation with Dr. David Willows and Suzette Parlevliet of [YELLOW CAR], a transformation company that helps schools intentionally design their learning experiences. Our talk is in celebration of the company’s fourth anniversary, and you can register for free at that link and then join us on the 24th at 9am EDT / 3pm CET.
Another big opportunity: London Experience Week April 21-23
Then, the week of April 20 I will be in London to participate in and speak at London Experience Week (LXW, aka the World Experience Summit) in affiliation with the World Experience Organization (WXO). The exact date and time I’ll be speaking is tbd, but I’ll be bridging from the Experience Economy to the Transformation Economy.
Experience Economy Expert Certification Course
And finally, I am “wrapping” an Experience Economy Expert Certification around London Experience Week, with the course going all day Monday, April 20; a half-day on Tuesday the 21st before LXW starts in the afternoon; one breakout session during the LXW event (tbd); and then, after LXW finishes very late into the night on Thursday, 10-5pm on Friday the 24th. I also plan on a virtual session for all participants – make that newly minted Certified Experience Economy Experts! – in the following week or two to ensure that everyone gets their questions answered.
And I’m wrapping our Experience Economy Expert Certification course around LXW!
We now have over 340 Certified Experience Economy Experts around the world and to a person they say that the high-cost/high-value course is worth every penny in (my words) internalizing the ideas, principles, and frameworks of The Experience Economy (including one session on guiding transformations) and then being able to apply them in their companies or with their clients.
The normal price is US$14,000, but with sponsorship from the WXO I am facilitating this course at US$10,000, including participation at LXW. You can learn more about it here.
I do hope you will be able to join me at one or more of these events to continue learning more about the Transformation Economy and working its ideas, principles, and frameworks into your business – and your life.

Can’t wait for the yellow car talk—going to recommend it to my college students next week.
